About Us
Never Overstating Our Vision!
Our vision is simple: To serve government, DVBEs, private industry and the rehabilitation community to employ persons with disabilities. The Genesis Training and Job Development Corporation is a nonprofit corporation founded to assist DVBEs and Non Profit Agencies (NPAs) secure new and innovative contracts. Through education, training and market awareness we enable the public and private sectors become more aware of the employment capabilities of persons with disabilities, as well as inform government of the Welfare and Institution Codes 19403 & 19404 which encourages them to contract with NPAs to acquire goods and services without public bid. We also assist public and private agencies in their efforts to locate and secure contracts with DVBE businesses to meet their DVBE goals.

The unemployment rate for persons with disabilities remains at an alarming rate (nearly 75%). Most of these individuals (71%) want to work but are not given the opportunity. Through training and contract development, the Genesis Corporation encourages government and businesses to contract with DVBEs and NPAs for goods and services and employ persons with disabilities. Ultimately this relationship gives persons with disabilities the opportunity to make a contribution in the society.

The result of this program is a very dependable workforce: Ready, Willing and Able to work. Money spent employing people with disabilities is returned to the state in the form of increased tax revenue and decreased state assistance. Our team of experts in contract training, marketing, media awareness and business development are second to none.
Managing Director, Keith York has more than 22 years of experience working in and around state and local government. He served as Campaign Manager for Assemblyman Tim Leslie’s 1988 and 1990 re-election campaigns and as Legislative Aide for the Assembly Republican Caucus. York’s experience also includes Public Relation’s Director for the California Rental Association and later as Marketing Director for the California Alliance of Rehabilitation Industries (CARI). Today, he serves as Managing Director for the Genesis Training and Job Development Corporation.
